Heavy Rain Alert: Rain may continue in many parts of the country. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in many areas of East and Central, North-West India, West India and South India. According to IMD, strong winds are also likely in most areas during this period. The Meteorological Department has forecast that the wind speed may reach 70 kilometers per hour at some places.

Heavy Rain Alert: Rain may continue in many parts of the country. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in many areas of East and Central, North-West India, West India and South India. According to the IMD, strong winds are also likely in most areas during this period. The Meteorological Department, while making the forecast, said that the wind speed can reach 70 kilometers per hour in some places.

Heavy Rain Alert: The weather has deteriorated once again in many parts of the country. Rains with thunder and lightning are likely to continue in North-West India till May 12 and in West and Central India till May 13. Heavy to very heavy rains with thunder and lightning are likely in Northeast India during May 11 to 15.

South-west monsoon advancing

According to the Meteorological Department, the South-west Monsoon is very likely to advance into the South Andaman Sea, parts of the South-East Bay of Bengal and the Nicobar Islands around May 13. It may move further into the South Arabian Sea, parts of Maldives and Comorin region, some more parts of South Bay of Bengal, entire Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Andaman Sea. Weather activity may increase in some parts of central Bay of Bengal during the next 4 to 5 days.

Rain in Eastern and Central India (Eastern and Central India Rain Alert)

  • There is a possibility of sporadic to light and moderate rain with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds in western Madhya Pradesh during 11 to 13 May.
  • Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Sikkim may receive rain during 11 to 15 May, Bihar, Jharkhand may receive rain on 15th.
  • Strong winds may blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kmph to 50 kmph in eastern Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Jharkhand during 11 to 13 May.
  • There will also be a period of strong winds in Bihar during 11 and 13 to 15 May.
  • Strong winds of 50 to 60 kmph are likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 11 and 12 May.
  • Heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Nicobar on 13 and 14 May.
  • Very heavy rain is likely at isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during 11 to 15 May.

Heavy Rainfall North West India

On 11 and 12 May, sporadic light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds is likely over Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Northeast Rajasthan.
During this period, winds can blow at speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kmph to 60 kmph at some places.
On May 11, the wind speed is likely to increase from 50 to 60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph with thunderstorms in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh.

Heavy Rain Alert West India

  • There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds in Madhya Maharashtra during 11 to 15 May.
  • The wind speed may increase from 40 to 50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph.
  • The wind speed may increase from 30 to 40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph in Konkan and Goa on 11 and 13 May. Rain is likely in Marathwada during 11 to 13 May and in Gujarat state on 11 and 12 May.

South Peninsular India (Heavy Rain Warning)

Scattered to light to moderate rains with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds are likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana, interior Karnataka during 11 to 15 May.

Wind speed may increase to 50 kmph in many areas.

Lightning is likely over Lakshadweep and entire coastal Karnataka on 11 and 12 May.
