Honda has discontinued the Amaze variant

Honda Car Company has decided to discontinue the production of the VX variant of the second-generation Amaze car model. Accordingly, only the S variant of the second-generation Amaze will be available for sale from now on. It is said that the VX variant is now being discontinued as a result of the introduction of the third-generation Amaze car model in December last year. It is noteworthy that the new edition is marketed in 3 variants, V, VX and ZX. It is noteworthy that it has been marketed in 3 variants, V, VX and ZX. What is the reason?

Honda sold a total of 4,871 units last month. This includes 3,360 domestic sales and 1,511 exports. There has been a 22.75% decline in domestic sales compared to April last year. Despite the launch of the new Honda Amaze, overall sales have declined. Due to this, the VX trim of the second-generation Amaze has now been discontinued to understand the market environment and invest in it, as well as to abandon unsold older models and save on production costs.

Second-generation Amaze details

The second-generation Amaze car model, which was launched in 2018, received a facelift in 2021. Initially, it was sold in three variants, E, S and VX. The E variant was discontinued in 2023. In this case, after two years, the VX variant has also been removed from Honda’s official website. As a result, only the S variant of the second-generation Amaze car is currently on sale. Honda is said to have taken this decision to avoid confusion with the third-generation Amaze also having a VX variant and to boost sales of the new Amaze car model.

The S variant of the second-generation Amaze features a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 89bhp and 110 Nm of torque. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission or CVT options. Its price ranges from Rs. 7.63 lakh to Rs. 8.53 lakh.

S Variant Features

Interior features include an integrated 2DIN LCD screen audio system with Aux-in, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, steering-mounted audio, hands-free telephone controls, tilt-adjustable steering wheel, and height-adjustable driver’s seat. Additionally, there are features like a rear center foldable armrest with cupholder, front and rear accessory sockets, and instrument panel.

The third generation Amaze was introduced in the market as a compact sedan with improved features. Accordingly, it has ADAS technology and is marketed at a competitive price, which has surprised everyone. In addition, it has all the features to enhance the driving experience such as LED lighting, large touchscreen infotainment system, projector fog lamps, remote engine start, semi-digital driver’s display, connected car technology, 6-speaker sound system, lane watch camera.
