Today Weather Update 8 April 2025: The whole country has started heating up this April. For the last 2 days, the heat waves have started making people sweat. Day temperatures are being recorded much above normal in Rajasthan and Gujarat. Western Rajasthan, interior parts of Saurashtra and Kutch and central Gujarat are in the grip of severe heat. The maximum temperature recorded yesterday in Barmer, a city on the border of Rajasthan, was 45.6 degrees Celsius, which was the highest in the entire country. This phase of heat in Rajasthan will continue for three more days, while in Gujarat this situation may last a little longer.

Intense heat in Gujarat-Rajasthan

According to private weather agency Skymet, the biggest reason for the heat wave is the record-breaking heat in the southern and central parts of Pakistan. In which the temperature in some of the major cities there was as follows: 45°C in Hyderabad (Sindh), 47°C in Nawabshah, 46°C in Pad Idan, 46°C in Sibi, 45°C in Rohri, 44.4°C in Chhor. Hot winds are coming towards Gujarat and Rajasthan from these areas, due to which the temperature is continuously increasing here. Heat wave conditions may persist in Rajasthan for the next three days and in Gujarat for a week.

When will we get relief from the scorching heat?

A Western Disturbance will affect the hills of North India from today i.e. 8 April. Along with this, a cyclonic system will be formed in western and northern Rajasthan. Also, an east-west trough will spread in the Indo-Gangetic plains. Due to this, rain, thunder and dust storms can be seen in the plains of North India between 9 and 12 April. This will provide relief from heat to some extent in Rajasthan. However, this heat may continue in Gujarat till the weekend and the temperature may remain above 40°C for the entire next week.

How will the weather be for the next 2 days?

A new western disturbance will affect the western Himalayan region from April 8. This is likely to cause rain, thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds. Light to moderate rain is also possible in Northeast India. Heavy rains may occur in some parts of Assam, Meghalaya and Bihar on April 9. Temperatures will gradually increase in northwest, central and east India. Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions may persist in many parts of Saurashtra, Kutch and Rajasthan. Sporadic heat waves may also occur in some parts of Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Haryana.

The Meteorological Department has issued an advisory

Talking about Delhi, the maximum temperature on Monday reached 40.2 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘yellow’ warning for the next two days in Delhi-NCR. During this time, people have been advised to avoid getting caught in the heat, wear light-colored, loose cotton clothes and cover their head with a cloth, hat or umbrella.

IMD said in a statement, ‘The heat wave is likely to continue in Delhi till April 9. The temperature is expected to drop in North-West India including Delhi from April 10. ‘ The Meteorological Department has predicted clear skies and the heat wave to continue in Delhi on Tuesday. It said that the maximum temperature in the capital is expected to be around 41 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be around 22 degrees Celsius.

According to Mahesh Palawat of ‘Skymet Weather Services’, there is a possibility of change in the weather after April 10. During this time the sky will remain cloudy and the temperature is expected to drop due to western disturbance in North India.
