That is why all major automobile brands are also bringing their new electric models. Apart from this, they are also updating their existing popular models with electric motors. However, the country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti has not launched a single electric car in India. Maruti E-Vitara will be the company’s first electric car in India. When will the e-Vitara be launched

In a recent sales call, Maruti Suzuki Chairman RC Bhargava announced that the much-awaited e Vitara will be launched in September. According to a report by Auto Express, the online automotive website has revealed the performance figures and charging time of the e Vitara.

2 battery options will be available

Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle will be available in two battery options – 49 kWh and 61 kWh. As per the new information, the top-spec 61 kWh battery charges from 0 to 80% in 45 minutes via a DC charger. With an expected range of over 500 km, the e Vitara can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 8.7 seconds. On the other hand, the 49 kWh e Vitara can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 9.6 seconds.

What will be in the interior?

The e Vitara will come with two battery options: a 49 kWh unit that offers a single motor with 142 bhp and 189 Nm of torque, and a 61 kWh version that produces the same torque with 172 bhp, this too using a single motor. It will have multiple drive modes – Eco, Normal and Sport. This flagship model of Maruti Suzuki will come with features like dual digital screens, 10.1-inch infotainment system and 10.25-inch instrument console, ventilated front seats, 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, sliding and reclining seats, USB and Type-C charging ports.

Level 2 ADAS safety features

The E Vitara is the first vehicle from Maruti Suzuki to include Level 2 ADAS safety features, such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, adaptive high beam system, blind spot monitoring, active cornering control, and multi-collision braking. It features 7 airbags, including a driver knee airbag, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic parking brake with brake hold, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 360-degree camera, and emergency call with SOS button. Additionally, the Acoustic Vehicle Alarm System (AVAS) activates at low speeds to alert pedestrians and cyclists to the presence of the e Vitara.
