RBI has said in its circular that banks and white label ATM (WLA) operators will have to take necessary steps to provide adequate facilities of Rs 100 and Rs 200 notes to the general public.

If you are also troubled by not getting small notes while withdrawing cash from ATM, then now you are going to get relief. Often when we go to withdraw cash from ATM, we hardly ever get 100 or 200 rupee notes. But now your problem is going to end.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday ordered banks and white label ATM operators to increase the availability of Rs 100 and Rs 200 notes in their ATMs. That is, in the coming days, you will be able to easily get small notes instead of big notes of 500.
Strict instructions to banks and ATM operators
RBI has said in its circular that banks and white label ATM (WLA) operators will have to take necessary steps to provide adequate facilities of Rs 100 and Rs 200 notes to the general public. Under this, by 30 September 2025, 75% of the ATMs in the country should dispense at least one cassette of Rs 100 or Rs 200 notes. After this, this facility will have to be made available in 90% of the ATMs by 31 March 2026.
RBI said, “In order to increase the public’s access to frequently used denomination bank notes, it has been decided that all banks and White Label ATM Operators (WLAO) will ensure that their ATMs dispense Rs 100 and Rs 200 notes on a regular basis.”
What is a White Label ATM?
White Label ATMs (WLA) are those ATMs which are installed by private or non-banking companies instead of banks. From these also, you can withdraw money through debit card or credit card, check balance and avail all other facilities, like you get from a bank ATM.
Withdrawing money from ATM will be expensive from May 1
Along with this, another change is going to be implemented from May 1, 2025. If you withdraw money from the ATM after the free transaction limit is over, then now a charge of Rs 23 will be levied on every additional transaction. Till now this charge was Rs 21. That is, for those who use ATM several times a month, the expense is going to increase a bit.
