To compete with Classic 650, in this category, customers also have Gold Star 650 of BSA brand of Classic Legends which has been launched recently. Design

Royal Enfield Classic 650 is based on the company’s signature retro styling, in which the styling of Royal Enfield Classic 350 has been taken. In this, customers get bulbous fuel tank, curved fender, twin chrome exhaust and powerful paint scheme. The BSA Gold Star 650 takes the design a notch higher and is designed with retro motorcycling in mind.

Specs

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is powered by an air-cooled 648cc parallel-twin engine that produces 46 bhp and 52 Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed transmission. Apart from this, the 650 and the BSA Gold Star 650 Classic feature a slipper clutch that makes downshifting efficient. The BSA Gold Star 650 is slightly torquey thanks to its 652cc single cylinder that is liquid-cooled, DOHC and equipped with a four-valve cylinder head. It produces 45 bhp at 6,000 rpm, with a peak torque of 55 Nm at 4,000 rpm. It is mated to a five-speed gearbox from the Classic.

Price

Royal Enfield has positioned the Classic 650 in the premium midsize segment, priced between ₹3.37 lakh and ₹3.50 lakh, depending on the variant. There are three trims to choose from – Hotrod, Classic and the slightly more premium Chrome edition, which has minor styling differences. The BSA Gold Star 650, on the other hand, is priced starting at Rs 2.99 lakh and going up to Rs 3.35 lakh, making it a slightly more affordable option.
