The Microlino is not actually a car, but rather fits into the L7e category of quadricycles in Europe. This allows it to travel at speeds of up to 90 km/h (56 mph) without meeting many of the more difficult requirements for passenger cars. That doesn’t mean the compact electric vehicle skimps on safety. Its production relies on automotive-level design and fabrication principles for the chassis to create a safe cockpit for passengers. Now, with the new Spiagina model, it’s easy to take a peek inside that impressive cockpit.

The company said the Spiagina is influenced by a number of other vintage automobiles. Inspired by famous beach cars like the Fiat 600 Jolly and the Citroen Mehari, the Microlino Spiagina combines retro looks with modern technology, the press document says. The unique design features the Microlino with the side and rear windows removed, allowing for either an open-roof fun-mobile setup or a fabric canopy to protect from the sun. The interior is designed with high-quality leather, which is specifically used in motor and sail boats.

The Microlino Spiagnina features the same drivetrain and performance as the existing Microlino model. Its 12.5 kW motor offers speeds of up to 90 km/h (56 mph). Its 10.5 kWh battery pack offers a maximum range of 177 Km (110 miles). The 2.2 kW charger allows the Microlino to be recharged from any household outlet. However, a high-power charger can recharge the vehicle’s battery in 2-4 hours.
