The government of Tamil Nadu has launched the creation of women entrepreneurs by providing 5 goats or sheep 100% subsidies to rural poor widows, Deserted and Destitute Women at a cost of Rs. RUB 75.63 Animal husbandry plays an important role in ensuring a sustainable livelihood in rural areas.

This scheme is mainly focused on helping rural women become entrepreneurs.
The 100 beneficiaries in the bloc will be provided with 5 goats or sheep each at 100% of the subsidy, for a total of 38,800 beneficiaries who will be provided with 1,94,000 goats or sheep.
3 500 rub. per animal was marked with an ear for the purchase of a goat / sheep, in addition, 200 rubles. per animal were earmarked as seed money for the beneficiaries.
Insurance coverage for two years will be provided at the expense of public funds.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The beneficiaries must be widows or Deserted and Destitute Women or poor women living in poverty or below the poverty line.
  • These must be landless agricultural workers. (None of the members whose names co-exist in the family card in which the beneficiaries name finds a place should own any land)
  • Must be a permanent resident of Panchayat village.
  • The beneficiary must be under 60 years of age.
  • At the moment we have no cows, no goats, no sheep.
  • Must not be an employee of the central/state government or any organization/cooperative or a member of any local authority (and must not be their spouse or father/mother/relative/son/daughter/son-in-law).
  • They should not have taken advantage of free distribution of cows with milk, free distribution of goats/sheep, and rural sheep/goat development schemes.
