How to check EPF balance online
There are two ways to check your EPF balance online. The first is through the EPFO portal and the second is through the UMANG app.
EPFO Portal
- First of all, you have to go to the EPFO portal i.e https://www.epfindia.gov.in/.
- In Sevices page select Member UAN/Online Service (OCS/OTCP)
- After that, enter your username and password.
- After this, you have to select your PF account. (If you have more than one.)Now you have to click on ‘View PF Passbook’.
- After this, you will see your PF balance.
Umang app
- You need to download the app on your smartphone.
- After this, go to the search bar and search for EPFO.
- Now go to the EPFO section and enter the UNN number.
- After this, an OTP will come on the mobile number registered with the EPFO. Enter it.
- Now the passbook will come in front of you.

- How to check EPF balance online
- You can also easily find out the offline balance in EPF. The first is SMS and the second is a missed call.
SMS
- Your mobile number must be linked to UAN to know the balance from SMS.
- After this, you have to enter the EPFOHO UAN ENG (English word for language) from your mobile number, you can enter the language as per your convenience.(a) to register.
- Send this SMS to 7738299899.
- After some time, you will receive an MMS with the details of the balance.
- You can easily check the balance by giving a missed call to 9966044425 from your registered mobile number. You will receive an SMS shortly after the call is placed.
