Aadhaar Biometric Lock: Biometric information entered in the Aadhaar card is often locked. Global rating agency Moody’s Investors Service has expressed concern over the reliability of Aadhaar’s biometrics. In one of its reports, the agency claimed that due to glitches in Aadhaar’s system, its biometric does not work in places where the weather or climate is hot.

How to do aadhaar biometric lock online?
- Visit UIDAI Website
To lock biometric information of your Aadhaar card first, visit the official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in/. Here on the homepage, find the Lock/Unlock Biometrics option and click on it to proceed.
- Enter Aadhaar Number
Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number here. Also enter captcha. Also, click on the I am not robot option.
- Complete OTP Verfication Process
You will receive OTP on Aadhaar OTP Mobile Number. After this, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar card.
- Now aadhaar biometric lock/unlock online
After entering the OTP you will get an option to lock your biometrics.
- Unlock/Lock Aadhaar Online
Click on the “Lock” button to activate this feature. Also, when you need to unlock your Aadhaar, you can also unlock it through this process.
However, please let us know that wrong use of Aadhaar is not possible. It is heavily guarded by the government. Many statements have been made on behalf of the government in this regard.
